Our Family Scrapbook

Occasionally we get together for parties or events - and occasionally someone even remembers to bring a camera!

We had a Melbourne Cup party at Andrea's house - photos coming soon!

Christmas 2009

We had a little parody for Jane...it was a riot!

Unfortunately no one took any photos of the yummy food!

Ode to Jane (a parody of our small repertoire)
By The Morningsong Choir

1. ( Sung to the tune of Ah Poor Bird)

Ah poor Jane, with this lot
Turn us into singers, we think not.

Ah poor Jane, with this lot
Turn us into singers, we think not.

2. (Sung to the tune of Kwaheri)

We’re scary, we’re hairy, not ordinary
Contrary and wary, not airy fairy
Singing in the choir, every Friday
Jane just shakes her finger & says “do it my way”

3. (Sung to the tune of La Mar)

We are the Morningsong singers
We come from near and far
By train or taxi or ferry
And some of us even by car

It’s followed by lunch at the café
And talking takes over from song
We’ve made such wonderful friendships
Best mates, we’ll all be before long

4. (Sung to the tune of Thula Mama)

You are, a terrific teacher
Conducting like a preacher
We’ve been pleased to meet ya

Singing dulcet tones are ringing
Melodies we’re bringing
You, your hands awringing

5. (Sung to the tune of This Old Hammer)

She had black hair when we started
She had black hair when we started
She had black hair when we started
Now she’s shades of grey, shades of grey

This old choir dulled Jane’s senses
This old choir dulled Jane’s senses
This old choir dulled Jane’s senses
Coz we’re out of tune, out of tune (sing these notes off key)

Christmas singing in the Mall, '09

We decided that Christmas, for us, was purple.
